Update
I guess my monthly friend must know about my blog. She showed up right after I posted and she came with a vengeance. I'll take it though! Now I'm counting down...just three weeks from today!
Three Weeks Until Our FET (frozen embryo transfer)
Hopefully we will be doing our transfer three weeks from today...but I'm not holding my breath yet. My last birth control pill was Friday morning and I still haven't gotten my period. I called the nurses line and they said to call if I don't get it by Thursday. If I don't, they will do an ultrasound to see if my lining is thin. If it is, we will proceed as scheduled and I will start getting hopped up on estrogen. If not...I don't know. I'm hoping to not find out.
If all goes well, I'll be starting my multiple forms of estrogen on Thursday. They will have me in for an ultrasound on May 9, and if all is well we will proceed with the FET on May 20.
I don't know why, but I have a bad feeling. I just don't think this time is going to work. Whether that means we don't get to try because of some new, random fluke or if the two embryos just plain don't take. I don't know.
Maybe it's the lupron talking. It makes me crazy and depressed. It's a drug that makes your body think it is going through menopause (so you don't ovulate when you aren't supposed to). It just screws with my hormones, and consequently I'm a nut case. I always thought other women were overreacting about how emotional and crazy/crabby they become on lupron, but it has proven true. I take consolation in the fact that I know my reactions are a result of the hormone game playing that is IVF, but I still look crazy. I was the crazy girl that fled from church five minutes into mass crying...no balling. Who cries at a song about joy in the world with bouncing babies all over the place...yep, that's crazy Erin! I can't wait to be myself again.
I'll let you know if my monthly friend ever shows. I guess she doesn't know it's rude to be two days late to an event.

FET is Scheduled...Late
Well, I'm officially feeling better and have survived my OHSS. I have a nice cushion of fat on my entire body that wasn't there prior to this cycle, and I don't foresee it going away since my RE says I still can't run...but oh well. I just hope that I don't have to buy a whole new wardrobe just for trying to conceive. I've done well so far with the past two years, but my jeans are really getting tight. I'm just too obsessive about my weight and fitness level, so I just have to take a deep breath and get over myself.
Our FET (frozen embryo transfer) is scheduled for May 20. I'm a little disappointed that it isn't sooner, but there isn't anything I can do about it. I met with my RE (reproductive endocrinologist) on Wednesday and he told us to look at our calendar for a beginning to mid May date for FET. I got the call from his scheduler the next day and she said it was scheduled for May 27.
They did this for our fresh cycle too. They just keep over promising and under delivering on their dates. It's just frustrating. I got them to move the fresh cycle up two weeks and I got them to move the FET up a week, but I'm still annoyed. Just prepare a girl in advance. Tell me you can't do it until June and then surprise me with a May 27 date! I love my clinic, and if their issues with dates is my only problem I know I'm doing well...I'm just such a planner! So, that's where we stand. I'm on the pill awaiting the start of lupron.
I'm doing ok. Now that my OHSS has disapated, I'm starting to realize how sad I am that I didn't get to do the transfer. I just feel like I'm constantly waiting. In the year plus we've been working with an RE, we've only had 3 real tries. I just feel like we never get a shot!! I'm just hoping are nine frosties are ready to go in May! It sounds like we have about four blasts that were beginning to hatch that are top grade, so that is good. I had to almost wrestle my RE to let me know how the frosties looked, they don't give grades. They only tell you how many made it to freezing. I basically just looked over his shoulder at the embryologist's report. So, our nine little prospects look good...that's my silver lining for now! Sorry to be so negative. I'm just tired of waiting to get a real shot. I guess May 20 it is!

On The Road Again
Yay...I got AF (aunt flow, aka my period) yesterday!! Normally this would be a very sad event, but this time it marks the start of our preparation for our frozen embryo transfer (FET)! I start the birth control pill tomorrow. I'll have a meeting with our doctor soon to go over our plan for the cycle. Hopefully then I'll have a timeline and a date. I'm shooting for the beginning of May for the FET, but we'll see what they have to say.
I think in all my pain because of the OHSS, I forgot to mention my IV debacle. When I went in to be 'drained', they attempted to put the IV in my right arm. I know that only my left arm cooperates, and I told the nurse that, but she thought my left arm looked bruised and wanted to give it a break. Well, as I suspected, the right arm did not work. I thought I would post another bruise photo. This one is a week old now, but you get the idea.
