Second Ultrasound!

I'm breathing a sigh of relief after our ultrasound on the 23rd. All was well, our little one measured eight weeks, with a heart rate of 166. Perfect! I was released to my OB and have my first appointment this week. I'm so hoping for another ultrasound, but those aren't handed out so easily once I join the ranks of the normal pregnant women!

We also found out that the resulting two embryos from this cycle were perfect, hatching blastocysts. Basically the best an embryo can be for IVF. Out of the nine frozen embryos from Addie's fresh cycle, only one was hatching. We believe that hatching embryo was Addie! So, we still might have a chance for another. Two is fine, but knowing we have the opportunity for more is nice too.

From the Mouthes of Babes

These are more notes for me to remember, but I thought I would share.

Addie has been counting lately. She counts everything and there is always six of everything, "One, two, four, six.". Eventually we will get that right.

The other weekend we were carpooling with my parents to visit my Grandma, Addie's Great Grandma. My mom was putting Addie back in her carseat and a little burp escaped. My dad and I wouldn't have noticed, except that Addie exclaimed loudly, "Gamma buwp.". There aren't any secrets around here!

Houston, We Have a Heartbeat

I'm so relieved!!! We had our ultrasound today, with my favorite nurse, and we have a heartbeat! There was one perfect little fetus in there. I guess I'm not octomom, but one out of two embryos sticking is just fine with me! The heartbeat was 122, they like to see it over 100 at this point, and the baby measured six weeks and two days. So, we are looking perfect! We aren't out of the woods yet, but seeing a heartbeat is a very good step in the right direction!

Bumbos, Not Just for Babies Anymore

On Sunday my cousin, Caroline, and her son came over for a visit. They brought back the bumbo chair of ours they had borrowed. Addie was napping, so she missed the visit, but she noticed the bumbo right away. I tried to explain that it was for babies. She didn't agree. She had fun playing with it but couldn't get out. Somehow the bumbo ended up in our baby storage when Addie wasn't looking. She didn't forget about it, though!
