16 Week Appointment

As usual, my regular OB appointment was anti-climactic. The baby's heart rate was 147, and I've gained five pounds so far. That was about it. They drew blood for our quad screening which tests for Down Syndrome (again), trisomy 18, and neural tube defects. We should get the results in a week or so.

I'm attaching some belly pictures. The first is right after we found out we were pregnant...so it's more of a 'before' picture. You can see in the second photo that I'm starting to round out a bit. It's not much, but enough to make my pants too tight!

Long Time, No Post

As promised almost four weeks ago, I've attached a photo of the ultrasound. We got the bloodwork results back and everything is normal...our baby shows no signs of downs!

We are anxiously awaiting our next ultrasound on September 25, when we find out the sex of little baby Muckerheide! We find out at exactly 20 weeks, which bummed me out because it seems like EVERYONE else gets to find out sooner. Oh well!

I've been feeling good. I had some slight nausea when hungry during the first trimester and was a bit tired, but nothing too big. Now I'm feeling really good. I'm a little lazy, but I dont' know if that is really because of the pregnancy or because I'm allowing myself to feel that way? I'm not as motivated to get things done as I once was?

The pregnancy seems to be going a bit slow. I feel like I've been pregnant for two and a half years. Everyone says, "Oh, it will go so fast!", or "I felt like I hardly had time to prepare.". I'm feeling like I wish the baby was here already!

We still have plenty to do. We are really waiting to find out the sex to start registering and buying furniture....which I'm really excited to do! I think it will start feeling real and start coming together. I'll keep you updated!
